A solid choice if you are looking for inspiration for a sci-fi RPG. So if you like it, there are more stories out there. Thrall (Daniel Black Book 4) Black Coven Perilous Waif (Alice Long Book 1). Which means other characters aren't as developed.īut an enjoyable book and worth picking up. Does someone around here support William Brown on subrscribestar and knows. The only complaint might be that Alice dominates the story (told essentially first person). There are good elements that could be incorporated into an sci-fi RPG. and a hunt for a missing ancient relic (treasure quest!) Some pretty cool fights (some large scale, others more personal) There's advanced DNA/gene manipulation with cybernetics thrown in. There's the robot vs intelligent android vs super intelligent AI part of the story There are some pretty cool high tech elements. Circumstances force her to leave the orphanage and in the big city she meets and joins up with a band of enterprising space "merchants". It's evolving more capabilities as she grows older. Thing is, Alice has a rather evolutionary cybernetic and DNA enhancement. With Kindle Unlimited, I was able to indulge without spending money.Īlice Long is an orphan with no memory of her parents left in a rather strict orphanage on a remote planet. It was one of those, "if you liked that, maybe you'll like this" suggestions. This is one of those books I likely wouldn't have found without the Amazon Kindle Unlimited package. No one hurt, but had some damage and other things to resolve. But we've had a tornado pass within a block and a half of my house. It's been a bit longer than I planned for this one.

Soldier, Handyman, Family Man, April 2018 Much fuss has been made over author Mary Hoffman, and she’s certainly fabulous, but in my mind illustrator Caroline Binch is the real star of this picture book (after Grace, of course). This is a case of an experienced author and illustrator team who worked together to create something greater than the sum of their parts. Lavar Burton has said that Amazing Grace is his favorite picture book, and it’s easy to see why. It was featured on Reading Rainbow and became somewhat ubiquitous in school libraries in a short amount of time.
